Onsite Staffing Coordinator – Milton

Vertical is currently looking to hire a Onsite Staffing Coordinator for a client in the Milton area. This is a full time permanent position.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with onsite shift managers and team leads to ensure efficiency and high levels of productivity from Vertical staff.
  • Maintaining good labor relations, through clear and effective communication with onsite Management, Internal Vertical Management, and onsite team members.
  • Attending pre-shift meetings to understand client priorities, Inbound and Outbound volumes for the days, special projects etc.
  • Through communications with the shift leaders, Vertical Operations Manager will maintain and improve labor efficiencies, whether through direct communication with team members or utilization systems
  • Through communications with client team leaders and Internal Recruitment, Vertical Operations Manager will ensure the correct number of vertical team members have clocked in for the shift to meet daily volume requirements. Communicate immediately any shortfall to Vertical recruiters to address and possibly backfill.
  • Understands the KPI’s and partners with client leadership to understand actual vs targets.
  • Attend manager post-start-up meeting to address daily issues.
  • Greet and onboard new employees on their first day.
  • Ensure that team members are communicated the daily goals at the beginning of shift meetings and all Vertical team members have properly signed in (or clocked in). Walking the floor consistently to ensure goals are being met daily.
  • Train, develop and motivate team members to improve quality and KPI’s by following the client’s requirements and methods. Monitor progress and coach struggling team members.
  • Ensure that QA and Safety policies and standards are met and that only qualified Vertical team members operate forklift equipment.
  • Assists with resolving locker issues, timeclock issues and other administrative duties with Vertical Recruiters and client team leaders.
  • Handling any performance issues in partnership with onsite management such as lates, no shows, low production, workers not punching in.
  • Assisting with recruitment efforts to ensure a pool of qualified candidates are always available for placement at the client site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources
  • Previous experience in an HR or Workforce Management role
  • Previous experience managing or supervising within the Distribution/Warehouse/Manufacturing sector
  • Ability to self-manage and able to work flexible hours in order to provide support to Client and Vertical Team off-site.
  • Key competencies include management proficiency in customer focus, drive for results, talent development, collaboration, communication, adapt and change and problem solving
  • Strong decision making and sound judgment skills coupled with practical advice to ensure the desired result
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and be a flexible, organized, multi-tasker using a hands-on approach
  • Solid working knowledge and experience in all relevant Employment, Human Rights and Health and Safety legislation
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills

Must be flexible as work timings will change based on business needs. Must be able to work Monday to Friday 6:00 AM -3:30 PM
